Bonefish & Tarpon Trust

If you enjoy saltwater fly fishing in the Southeast...especially Florida, trouble abounds. In recent years, algae blooms and red tides have taken a serious toll on many of the gamefish that utilize the tidal estuaries and inland waterways to spawn and rear their young. Efforts to solve these problems are underway but more help is needed.

American Rivers

Recently, American Rivers named the Snake River the "most endangered river in the US". For many years, the Snake River has experienced steady declines in the salmon and steelhead populations. The major issues are the four dams on the lower Snake River. In recent years there has been serious discussion about removing these dams and restoring the salmon and steelhead fisheries. This is a highly complex problem but it appears that some progress may be on the horizon.
