If 14 year old Maxine McCormick can become a two time world fly casting champion, you and I should be able to learn enough to catch a fish...I am not even slightly suggesting that it is "so easy that even a young girl can do it". It is not easy...it is not quick. Practice, practice, practice!

I am pretty sure that it is the casting aspect of fly fishing that intimidates those that want to give fly fishing a serious try. I also believe that it is casting that makes many beginners sell their gear on EBay or elsewhere. Fly casting requires your attention, a little instruction and a lot of practice. For those of you that are intimidated by casting, please take a look at this fairly recent video. Maxine McCormick is now a high school junior and has won several world casting titles against the very best flt casters in the world.
